The sale includes again soma works from the Romy Rey Collection.
A collector with a wide interest, primarily in the Arts of Africa and the Americas. includes Pre-Columbian pottery and jade amulets, Mexican masks and groups of San Blas Islands, Panama figures from the Romy Rey Collection. Further textiles from the Virginia Bond Korda Collection will include hand made fabrics from Africa, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. Also included is the usual mixture of African head rests, stools, figures and everyday objects. The Oceanic section highlights include a Marquesas Islands bowl with cover, a rare Niue Islands barkcloth and a Maori greywacke patu.

A collector with a wide interest, primarily in the Arts of Africa and the Americas. Figures and masks from differing African tribes, highlighting their distinct characteristics, power and charm. A wide ranging selection of Pre-Columbian pottery, stone and wood is a wonderful insight into the cultures of Mesoamerica, with pieces dating to 3000 years old and the delightful work of the Nazca potters of Peru. This is the first part of the collection, with more selections in future sales.

La collection africaine Ewa et Yves Develon .....Musée des confluences
Ewa et Yves Develon ont rassemblé depuis les années 1960 plus de 300 objets d’Afrique subsaharienne.
Cette collection exceptionnelle et rare est centrée sur les cultures du Nigeria méconnues en France. Amateurs d’art et marchands, ils ont préféré les découvertes intimes aux grandes lumières du marché, la surprise à l’assurance, l’originalité à la convention des choix.
D’une grande exigence, ils ont façonné une collection à leur image, discrète et émouvante.
